WHAT IS PAM 2
Microsoft Dynamics Ax Production Accounting Module 2 (PAM 2) is the second module within our Production Accounting Module software suite included in the xMMP (exploration, Mining and Metals Processing) platform.
PAM 2 is used in processing plants and tracks the location and value of the commodity, essentially improving the visibility and control of the revenue generated from the plants’ output.
3 Key features of PAM 2
PAM 2 tracks the products through the processing plant following its arrival from the mine.
Using Dynamics AX material handling abilities, the ROM ore (or coal, or any raw material) is moved around the plant and processed in batches which can be discrete or representative of continuous flows. All processes such as crushing, milling, flotation, smelting and washing can be modelled, along with the sample streams used to monitor the material.
And being Microsoft-based, AX can be integrated to any PLC/SCADA historian for automatic upload of key material flows. Integration to the plant Laboratory Information Management system (preferably our own AX LIMS) is also suggested to optimise return on investment and avoid manual data capture.
PAM 2 uses those material stream weights and ties them to the latest available batch assays to deliver real-time content and production (or purification) efficiencies, which are routinely updated as and when provisional weights and assays are finalised.
PAM 2 allows you to monitor plant stock values, costs and projected revenue in real time, using a combination of standard AX material and process costing plus the expected pricing from each material batch based on the complex pricing built into most commodities. This assay-based pricing and contract management is handled by the related PAM 3 module.
PAM 2 provides a single-source, auditable, access-controlled record of the value of the plant stock and its bought and sold materials at any time. This eliminates the dangers of using multiple uncontrolled spreadsheets with variable cutpoints and interpretations, and ensures compliance with reporting codes such as AMIRA P754.
