The Resolve Immix team is excited to have kicked off our intern programme for 2016. The programme is an initiative that starts at Imperial Logistics, making its way down to all the companies under the Imperial Logistics umbrella.
We are excited as it is an amazing opportunity for us to be able to play a small role in developing people and teaching them new skills. There is a shortage of skills in South Africa, so we are proud to do our part.
We received quite a few applications so it was a tough call to pick this year’s interns, but in the end two candidates really stood out and seemed like a great fit with the Resolve Immix team. Our two new interns started in June 2016 and will be with us for six months.
Firstly we have Thabile Hleza, who is doing duty in the Sales and Marketing department. Thabile studied at the University of Johannesburg and has a BCom Honours degree in Marketing.
“Being granted this opportunity is a breakthrough that will open doors for me,” she says. “I’m very nervous, excited and eager to learn skills and acquire experience I will use for life. I’m enjoying every minute at Resolve Immix. I’ve been welcomed with open arms and have been taken under the wing of great and influential businesswomen. I can’t wait to learn from them. This is the ideal place to start your corporate career. The company values are practised from top management all the way down to the lower management and are in line with my personal values. This is the kind of company for which I hoped to work. Everyone is friendly, kind and always willing to help. I have found myself a home away from home. Looks like I will be spending many more hours at Resolve Immix than I will at home!”
Our second intern is Jimmy Khoza, who is working in our CRM department. Jimmy has a National Diploma in IT (Software Development) from the Tshwane University of Technology and will be completing his BTech IT (Software Development) in mid-July this year.
“I have nothing but appreciation for the opportunity I have been given by Resolve Immix and I want to grab it with both hands to ensure I learn everything I can, every single day,” he says. “I am excited to be working with such welcoming and caring people; it feels like I have been here for quite a while. I am learning new things every day and want to go further and learn more, including personal skills, leadership skills, teamwork and more programming/development skills in general.”
The internship with Resolve Immix will be our new interns’ first professional roles within a business environment. It’s always nerve-racking to start a new job, especially if it’s your first job, but they both seem to have fitted in quickly with their new teams.
We believe in investing in people and that you don’t have to change the world all at once – if you start somewhere, it already makes a difference. We are looking forward to this journey with our new interns and are excited to see them learn and grow.
